Rex has been in care for some time now and we’ve watched him really come out of his shell under our foster care programme. Whilst Rex will need ongoing support and care in his new home we’re really excited to see him find his forever home.
Please ensure you read his profile in full as we are seeking a specific home for Rex !
Rex can be well mannered and he knows basic obedience such as a sit, drop and stay - he will do this when you’re out too but he can sometimes lose focus as he is too focused on whats going on around him. Rex is a big toy lover and enjoys interactive toys, anything that squeaks and he can throw around brings him so much joy!
Unfortunately Rex is not fond of his fellow K9’s. Because of this it’s really important we find him a home with no other animals, he needs to be the centre of attention in his new family.
Rex knows his routine in his foster home, with a walk in the morning and evenings, interactive play throughout the day. He is crate trained and will sleep in his crate or is happy to be in there if you need to pop out for a short while.
Rex is a large working line shepherd with a lot of energy to burn, so we’re looking for an experienced, older home without young children that can continue to support Rex going forward and help move through his obsessive compulsive issues. Rex will still spin and attempt to chew his tail however this can be redirected and diverted onto a toy. We do need someone to be home more often than not as he does have separation anxiety.
Rex absolutely adores people and being the apple of your eye, he has a massive personality and is growing into an incredible, happy playful big pup. If you feel you could open your home and provide the love and care Rex needs, please fill in an adoption application form and mention Rex.
Due to ongoing care and support, we are seeking a home within the Melbourne area.
