URGENT – EXPERIENCED HOME NEEDED

Meet Ruby, a stunning 5-year-old black and tan German Shepherd who is deeply loved but needs a more suitable home environment.
This decision has not been made lightly. Ruby is a cherished family member, but due to her reactivity toward other dogs — particularly small dogs — and the high-density area she currently lives in, her family believes she would thrive in a different setting.

About Ruby
• Crate trained
• Inside/outside dog
• Loves swimming & playing fetch (great ball drop!)
• Well trained – takes treats gently, waits for command to eat
• Very tolerant and gentle with toddlers
• Calm with trades and visitors
• Sleeps well and enjoys relaxing near her people
Ruby is wonderful with humans — including young children and teenagers. She is affectionate, loyal, and well-mannered in the home.

Important Notes
Ruby is reactive toward other dogs when out on walks, and has recently shown escalating behaviour, including an incident involving a small dog. Because of this:
• Not suitable for homes with small dogs
• Selectively okay with some large dogs (experienced handling required)
• Cats & livestock – untested
• Best suited as an only dog
Her current area has many small dogs and frequent gate traffic, and her family feels the environment is no longer safe or suitable for her.

Ruby’s Ideal Home
Ruby needs:
- An experienced dog owner (preferably with GSD experience)
- A secure yard with solid fencing
- A lower-density area (not surrounded by small dogs)
- Someone home more often or able to provide mental & physical stimulation
- Structure, leadership and ongoing management for her reactivity
She is a clever, loyal working breed who needs engagement and consistency. In the right home, with the right handler, she will be an incredibly devoted companion.
