SSRA Inc finds loving new homes for all our rescued dogs! So when you consider adopting a German Shepherd, ask yourself the following questions:
Do you have any existing pets?
If you plan on adopting a new dog and already have one at home, we strongly recommend that you bring your pet with you. It’s important to make sure that both your existing dog and potential German Shepherd get along!
Are there others living at your address?
Bring along as many members of your household as possible, children, partner, other family members, so that they can meet your new dog before you take it home.
Do you live in a rental property?
It’s important you seek approval from your landlord before making the decision to adopt. When you visit us to adopt a German Shepherd, please make sure you bring a copy of your lease or a letter from your landlord showing you have approval to have a dog.
Do you think your circumstances may change in the near future?
Are you considering children or moving? Then it is recommended you think about adoption very seriously. Dogs are a lifetime commitment and to adopt a dog without having considered normal lifestyle changes is not fair to any potential four-legged family member.
Do you currently have children?
Small children and German Shepherds can sometimes be a problem. We suggest considering all options before adopting a German Shepherd. it is also recommended you bring your child on the day of meeting to see their interaction with the dog.
