Sometimes life takes an unexpected turn, and sadly, through no fault of their own, our beautiful dogs find themselves needing a new place to call home.

Today we’d love you to meet Monty – a gorgeous young black and tan German Shepherd boy who is ready to find the family who will love him for all the days to come.

Born: 5 September 2025
A big boy – around 40kg at just 10 months.

Monty is a lovely young boy who can be nervous around new people, so he'll need a family who understands that trust takes a little time. Once he feels safe and comfortable, he can start to show the beautiful dog underneath that initial uncertainty.

He can be rehomed with children of any age and large dogs.

Monty is a big, energetic Shepherd and would absolutely love a home with a large secure yard where he can stretch his legs, run and enjoy being a dog, together with plenty of walks, training, play and mental enrichment.

Because of his size and temperament, Monty cannot be rehomed with small dogs or pocket pets. He hasn't been tested with cats, but his owner feels he would likely chase them, so a cat-free home would be best.

WHY IS MONTY LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME?

Monty's owner is going through a separation and, sadly, is no longer able to give this beautiful boy the home and lifestyle he deserves.

This isn't because Monty is unwanted. Quite the opposite. His family wants to make sure that the next chapter of his life is with someone who has the time, space and commitment to help this young Shepherd grow into the wonderful adult dog he's destined to become.

MONTY'S DREAM HOME

We're looking for someone who:

Has experience with German Shepherds or large breeds
Has a large, secure yard
Enjoys daily walks and adventures
Will provide plenty of mental stimulation and enrichment
Understands that a nervous dog may need patience and time
Will give Monty the confidence, structure and consistency he needs
Can welcome a big Shepherd into their family for life

Monty is only 11 months old – he's still a baby in a very big Shepherd body! He has his whole life ahead of him, and we're hoping we can find the wonderful family who will help him grow into a confident, happy and much-loved adult.

If you think you might be Monty's person, please get in touch.
