Sometimes the hardest rescue cases are the ones where there is nothing wrong with the dogs — life has simply changed for their family.

Saba and Sheba are two beautiful 7-year-and-10-month-old black and tan German Shepherd girls who are looking for a new home together.

These girls are sisters and are a genuinely bonded pair. They have grown up together, are closely attached to one another, and their family is adamant that they must remain together. For Saba and Sheba, this isn't a case of finding two separate homes — their future needs to be together.

Their family has made the incredibly difficult decision to surrender them because of medical circumstances that have made it impossible for them to continue caring for both girls. They are also unable to manage two large dogs, despite wanting the very best for them.

Both girls are desexed, microchipped and in excellent condition. They receive yearly heartworm and parvo protection and have been well cared for.

Saba

Saba is a beautiful black and tan German Shepherd who is 7 years and 10 months old. She is desexed, microchipped and in excellent condition.

She can become bored and may have a dig if she doesn't have enough to occupy her, so a home that can provide her with companionship, enrichment and plenty of things to keep her busy would be ideal.

Saba has experienced some fly bites to the tips of her ears, but these are currently well managed.

Sheba

Sheba is Saba's sister and is also 7 years and 10 months old. Like her sister, she is desexed, microchipped, in excellent condition and receives yearly heartworm and parvo protection.

TOGETHER IS NON-NEGOTIABLE

Saba and Sheba are not simply two dogs who happen to live together — they are a bonded pair.

Their family has specifically asked that they remain together, and Sweet Shepherd Rescue will honour that request. We are looking for someone who can open their heart and home to both girls, allowing them to navigate this huge change with the one constant they have always had: each other.

Both girls are suitable around young or older children, according to their family.

They will also come with their walking harnesses and a number of extras, giving their new family a head start and helping make the transition into their new home as easy as possible.

At almost eight years old, these girls aren't looking for a temporary stopover. They deserve a family who will make a lifelong commitment to them — a family who understands the responsibility of welcoming two large Shepherds into their home and who will give them the love, patience, stability and security they deserve.

Saba and Sheba have already lost the home they knew. The one thing they shouldn't have to lose is each other.
