Looking for a loyal best friend who will be by your side through life's adventures? Meet Sahara.

Sahara is everything people love about German Shepherds—intelligent, affectionate, loyal and completely devoted to her person. Once she trusts you, she forms an incredible bond and simply wants to be wherever you are. Whether she's following you around the garden, relaxing at your feet after a long day or joining you on an adventure, Sahara is happiest when she's part of the family.

She's playful, loves learning and absolutely adores water. Turn on the hose or take her somewhere she can swim and you'll see her happiest self.

Why you'll love Sahara

- Loyal and deeply affectionate

- Loves swimming, water play and adventures

- Intelligent and enjoys engaging with her people

- Excellent recall in quiet environments

- Fully vaccinated, desexed and up to date with all veterinary care

Sahara's perfect home

Sahara is looking for someone who appreciates the incredible partnership that comes with owning a German Shepherd.

Her ideal home would include:

- Someone experienced with German Shepherds or other working breeds

- A calm, confident owner who enjoys continuing training and building a strong relationship

- Secure fencing and space to enjoy time outdoors

- A home where she can be the only dog and enjoy being the centre of someone's world

Sahara has so much potential and truly thrives with consistency, routine and clear guidance. She loves having a close connection with her person and flourishes when she knows what's expected of her.

Things to know

Like many shepherds, Sahara prefers to focus on her person rather than interacting with unfamiliar dogs. She is happiest as the only dog in the home, and her current owner responsibly uses a muzzle in public while continuing her training.

She can become vocal when left on her own and is best suited to a home where someone is around more often than not.

She'll also need secure fencing, as she's a clever girl who has been known to dig or work out how to open a screen door if she's feeling bored or lonely.

She has not been tested with cats.

Why is Sahara looking for a home?

This decision has been made with a heavy heart. Her current carer has worked incredibly hard to give Sahara everything she needs, but managing multiple dogs—particularly one who would benefit from more individual time and attention—has become unsustainable.

Sahara deserves a home where she can be someone's priority.

She isn't looking for a perfect family—just the right one.

If you're searching for a loyal, intelligent companion who will reward your time and commitment with unwavering devotion, Sahara may just be the missing piece you've been looking for.

Think you could offer Sahara the home she's been waiting for? We'd love to hear from you.
