Lucy is a beautiful young German Shepherd looking for a special home that understands the breed and is willing to help her build confidence.

Lucy is a loving, intelligent girl who enjoys having space to run and play. She would thrive in a quieter environment away from busy streets, where she isn't constantly overwhelmed by passing people, dogs and traffic. A secure property with a large yard would be ideal.

Like many German Shepherds, Lucy is devoted to her family but can be wary of strangers. She can be vocal when visitors arrive and will need patient introductions to new people. She is also reactive to other dogs while out on walks, so her new family should be committed to continuing positive, reward-based training to help her gain confidence.

Lucy has lived with another large dog and may suit a home with a calm, confident male after careful introductions. She is not suited to homes with small dogs, cats or poultry, as she has previously killed chickens.

She could potentially live with respectful children who understand boundaries and dog behaviour.

Lucy would love a home where someone is around much of the time, as she enjoys companionship and doesn't cope well when left to worry about the world on her own.

With structure, routine and someone willing to invest time into her training, Lucy has all the makings of a loyal and devoted companion.
